Worker Rescued from Tower by IL FFs

Frankfort firefighters and rescue technicians joined efforts to get the injured man to the ground.

Rescue technicians and firefighters in Frankfort joined efforts to free a man who had fallen on top of a grainery tower.

Firefighters wrote on their Facebook page while speaking with the patient by cell phone he advised he had a severely fractured arm and needed help to get down.

The grainery tower is 125 feet tall and 190 feet tall with the large antenna on top of it.

Crews kept him warm during the operation with blankets and hot packs. 

When the equipment was ready, he was lowered inside the tower and moved three levels down. He was then handed out of a window to firefighters in a tower ladder.

He was transported to Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox.
